My Gear
-
My main camera for photography is the Sony A7iv
It is by far my most beloved camera I’ve ever used.I love the eye-tracking autofocus. If I’m doing a shoot with a random stranger I may only have 5 minutes with them—so having a reliable eye-tracking autofocus allows me to use very shallow depth of field settings while still keeping the subject in perfect focus.
The low-light performance is also phenomenal—-a HUGE improvement over my last two DSLR cameras.
-Affordable Alternative to A7IV-
The Sony a7iv is expensive, so if you’re looking for something more affordable, try something like the Canon Rebel T7
And for taking portraits with the Canon Rebel T7 I’d recommend this 50mm f1.8 lens
-
Currently, I use two prime lenses for my Sony A7iv.
For fuller body shots that give a sense of the environment around the subject I use: Sigma art 35mm f1.4 ART
For tighter shots focusing on the subject’s face I use: Sigma 85mm F1.4 ART
-Affordable Alternatives-
These affordable lenses shoot at a lower resolution but still look beautiful to me! These two both serve the same purpose as the more expensive lenses listed above:
Fuller Sigma 30mm F1.4

For my Sony A7IV I’m using this AMAZING Godox Flash v8600,
I’m usually using this flash in combination with a wireless flash trigger, this one: Godox XPro TTL Wireless Trigger
I use off-camera flash so I can utilize this soft box beauty dish, here’s the COMPLETE softbox set:

To capture the footage you see of me approaching people I’ve been experimenting with a few different action cams. I started out with the GoPro Hero 7, but I’ve settled on using the Insta360 One R
I use this backpack shoulder mount you can find here.
Here’s the SD card I use for the action cam, the SanDisk 256GB Extreme microSD
-
Right now I’m using this hand strap attached to my Sony camera.
I’m using this backpack to store my camera, lenses, and I wear it while I shoot my videos so as to mount the action cam.As far as my main camera’s SD card, I use the Lexar Professional 2000x 64GB SD card
The SD card is fast enough to use high frame rate photography and record in 4k video on the A7iv -
The SSD I use to store my videos while traveling: Crucial MX500 2TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD, up to 560MB/s -
The SSD Flash Drive that I store my photos on while traveling: SanDisk 1TB Extreme PRO USB 3.2 Solid State Flash Drive
Required cable for SSD: SATA to USB Cable - USB 3.0 to 2.5” SATA III Hard Drive Adapter
The Monitor I use to video and photo edit: AOC CU32V3 32" Super-Curved 4K UHD monitor
